Why go to church?

According to 1 Peter 1:15-16, a born again believer can produce practical changes in their attitudes, behaviors, and relationships, empowering them to grow in holiness and live out their faith more authentically.

Some of these changes include:

1. Holiness and Personal Transformation: the passage urges believers to be holy in ALL ASPECTS of life, just as God is holy. A practical result could be a renewed commitment to live a life of holiness, striving to align their actions, thoughts, and attitudes with God's standards.

2. Increased Awareness of God's Character: Reflecting on God's holiness, believers may gain a deeper understanding of God's nature and character. This can foster a stronger sense of reverence and awe towards Him, leading to a more intimate relationship with God.

3. Conviction and Repentance: The emphasis on holiness may prompt believers to confront areas of sin and disobedience in their lives. This can lead to a sense of conviction and a desire for repentance, seeking God's forgiveness and grace.

4. Accountability and Support: The call to holiness may encourage believers to hold each other accountable in their journey of faith. Small groups and communities within the church may form to support and encourage one another in living out a holy life.

5. Discernment and Wise Choices: Understanding the importance of holiness can lead to increased discernment in making life choices. Individuals may seek God's guidance in decisions, choosing paths that align with His will and purpose for their lives.

6. Witness to the World: Living a holy life can be a powerful testimony to those outside the faith. As believers exhibit Christ-like character, it can draw others to inquire about the hope they have and create opportunities for sharing the gospel.

7. Deeper Love for Scripture: Exploring the passage in-depth during the sermon may inspire a greater love for studying and meditating on God's Word. The desire to understand and apply biblical principles in daily life could be strengthened.

8. Gratitude for God's Grace: Recognizing the high standard of holiness can also lead to a deeper appreciation for God's grace and forgiveness. People may come to understand that despite their imperfections, God's love and mercy are available to them.

In conclusion,

✅GO to church!

✅BE the Church!

✅SUPPORT your church!
